If you want to have a great time and catch a lot of fish know your surroundings. By this I mean, know what species of fish you are trying to catch. Do a little research about the fish. For example, if you were trying to catch a bass you would not throw out a saltwater lure. Many of these species can be enticed into taking the bait you just have to wait for the right moment to strike. Study the fish that you are trying to catch, the surroundings the fish likes to hide or blend into and what the fish eats.
Also know the type or the species of fish you want to try to catch. Like what was mentioned above, a little research could bring you from having a lousy day on the lake to the attitude of that I know what these fish are thinking and you will be one step ahead of them. You would end up with more fish as well as the satisfaction that accomplished what you set out to do without needing any additional help.
The best two tips out there are the most old fashioned tips you have heard day in and day out. The good old trial and error and fishing advice talk with other fishermen and women. These people are one of the best ways to find out what’s going on in the lakes and steams where you like to fish. Your elders are encyclopedias of fishing knowledge. You can take what they give you and what you know and combine that knowledge. Then with both things working for you your fishing should improve a great deal but it is not going to happen over night. By the time you are ready to plan that big fishing trip, you will have all of the knowledge you would need to catch that perfect trophy fish to mount on your wall.
